Where Singapore passport photos are actually used

The 400×514 pixel rule is the thing to get right. It is an unusual aspect ratio — roughly 35×45mm at about 290 DPI — so a photo correctly cropped to 35×45mm and exported at a different resolution will have the right shape but the wrong pixel count, and the ICA form will still refuse it. Crop to the 35:45 proportion first, then resize to exactly 400×514 before uploading. Coloured contact lenses are the other frequent rejection: they alter your iris appearance and are not accepted even though the rest of the photo is compliant.

Can I wear a hijab or turban in a Singapore passport photo?
Yes. ICA allows head coverings worn for religious reasons, provided your full face is visible from the bottom of the chin to the top of the forehead and both sides of the face are unobscured. Non-religious hats and caps are not permitted.

Can I wear glasses or coloured contacts?
Coloured or decorative contact lenses are not accepted. Prescription glasses are best removed — if you keep them on there must be no glare, no tint, and the frames must not cross your eyes. Removing them avoids the issue entirely.
