Greece's Timezone System Explained
Greece uses Eastern European Time (EET, UTC+2) in winter and Eastern European Summer Time (EEST, UTC+3) in summer. Athens, Thessaloniki, Patras, Heraklion, and all Greek cities observe the same timezone — one hour ahead of Germany, France, and Italy.
DST in 2025: clocks spring forward at 3:00 AM on Sunday 30 March and fall back at 4:00 AM on Sunday 26 October, following EU convention.
Key differences from Athens (EET): London is 2 hours behind in winter. Berlin and Paris are 1 hour behind. Istanbul (UTC+3) and Moscow (UTC+3) are 1 hour ahead in winter but same as Athens during Greek summer (EEST).
