Israel's Timezone System Explained
Israel uses Israel Standard Time (IST, UTC+2) in winter and Israel Daylight Time (IDT, UTC+3) in summer. Jerusalem, Tel Aviv, Haifa, and all Israeli cities observe DST on a government-set schedule that can vary slightly by year.
DST in 2025: clocks spring forward on Friday night 28 March (at 2:00 AM on 29 March) and fall back at 2:00 AM on Sunday 26 October. Israel's DST schedule is set annually by the Knesset and generally follows the last Friday of March through the last Sunday of October.
Key differences from Tel Aviv (IST): London is 2 hours behind in winter, 1 hour behind during overlap of IDT and BST. New York (EST) is 7 hours behind. Dubai (GST) is 2 hours ahead. Cairo (EET) shares the same winter offset.
