Vietnam's Timezone System Explained
Vietnam uses Indochina Time (ICT, UTC+7) across the entire country — from Hanoi in the north to Ho Chi Minh City in the south. There is no daylight saving time. All Vietnamese cities and provinces operate on the same fixed UTC+7 offset year-round.
Vietnam shares ICT with Thailand, Cambodia, and Laos. The country standardized on UTC+7 in 1975 after reunification, abandoning the earlier South Vietnam offset of UTC+8.
Key time differences from Hanoi / Ho Chi Minh City (ICT): London (GMT) is 7 hours behind in winter, 6 hours behind during BST. New York (EST) is 12 hours behind. Dubai (GST) is 3 hours behind. Singapore and Beijing are 1 hour ahead. Tokyo is 2 hours ahead. Sydney (AEST) is 3 hours ahead.
