You see UTC everywhere — in flight itineraries, software logs, international meeting invites, weather forecasts — but if you have never worked across time zones professionally, it might just look like another confusing abbreviation. What UTC Stands For

UTC stands for Coordinated Universal Time.   • New York (EDT, summer): UTC - 4 hours. So 15:00 UTC = 11:00 AM EDT.
  • London (GMT, winter): UTC + 0. So 15:00 UTC = 3:00 PM GMT.
